This is a database program.  It allows children to use and create their own databases as well as experimenting with pre-created ones available for free on the net.

I have used this program with year 3 children and it is a good program for the children to input data onto a created database.  They can then sort the information and create graphs.  It is more difficult to use when the children are expected to create their own database (year 5).  It is rather fiddly and complicated and i am sure it could be simpler.

Looks like a step up from 2simple 2investigate and as such still ideal for the latter part of Key Stage 2. You say it is rather fiddly and complicated which is a shame as this is a needy part of the ICT curriculum which teachers tend to avoid due to a lack of understanding and accessability.

I have also found Junior Viewpoint quite difficult to navigate around as in year 3 a key element is the children creating their own questionnaires and ultimately databases. I think a major improvement would be having the facility to create a standard questionnaire that children can enter through the school network, enter data producing the end product of all class data being collected. This I feel would speed up the process of learning about databases.

I liked this database. The software supplies website had lots of great ready made databases and questions for them to use to interogate the databases.
